Orsoni is the only live-fire furnace in Venice, located in the historic city center. Born from the collaboration between the sculptural vision of Riccardo Gatti and the timeless craftsmanship of Orsoni Venezia 1888, this artwork celebrates the dialogue between matter, light, and identity.
The human face, sculpted as a universal symbol of our existence, opens to reveal an inner soul composed of precious Venetian glass mosaics and hand-cut gold leaf tesserae. The surface fractures to allow light to emerge, transforming the sculpture into a metaphor for the complexity of the human spirit: what appears solid gives way to an inner richness of emotion, memory, and transformation.
The purity of sculptural form meets the centuries-old tradition of Orsoni’s mosaic artistry, creating a harmonious balance between contemporary expression and Italy’s artistic heritage. Each tessera captures and reflects light in a unique way, allowing the artwork to change continuously with its surroundings and with the perspective of the viewer.
